The Family China Comes Out of Storage

Starting in the late 1950's, displaying the family china, sometimes passed down for generations, fell out of fashion. Occasional use table settings were replaced by modern melmac dishware, tuperware, plastic tumblers and tv dinners, all designed for the on-the-go family.

But china cabinets, tablescaping, and the display of generational tableware is back in vogue and  homeowners are responding by re-imagining the formal dinning room with beautiful built-ins and cabinetry designed to look like built-in cabinets.

For home owners without a separate dinning room, even open plan kitchens can gain a tremendous amount of functionality and style with the additions of purpose built cabinetry.
